Here you will see all the things that I have been building for the nursery schools.

At Dottie Tots Nursery Schools we try to up-cycle whenever we can. This includes the use of timber, which is used predominantly by hardware stores for single use packaging. We also use reclaimed timber from timber yards where things like decking is split and cannot be sold for purpose.

Most of the things in and around the settings, we bespoke build specifically for our needs. This includes all of the garden areas, fencing, artificial grass and shed etc, but also the children's work benches, mud kitchens, stages, sand pits, click clack boards, chalkboards etc.. the list goes on!

Not only this is a more sustainable thing to do, but I really enjoy thinking about and building the things the nursery teams come up with!

We tend to use new products likes gates and fencing around the settings open spaces for safety and security reasons, however, any off cuts soon get used up in the next build. 

​

To identify the things we have made, we tend to brand them with the Dottie Tots Logo. You will see our branded items in the gardens and settings. Branding is a great simple way to mark our bits and bobs without needing to use stickers or plastic signage.

I love being in and around the settings.  The children really embrace the fixing of things and the excitement when I bring new builds to the nurseries is a fantastic feeling. One thing I do have to make sure of is that I count back in the tools at the end of the day, as the children really do like to be involved!
